A2A (Agent2Agent)
An open protocol that lets agents work together regardless of the framework or vendor they were built on; Google announced it in April 2025. Google positions it as complementary to MCP: MCP gives an agent tools and context, A2A lets agents talk to each other and share work.

In practice
In A2A an agent advertises its capabilities in a JSON "Agent Card"; a client agent reads these cards to pick the best agent for the task. If there is an agent on the buyer's side, your product is chosen by a capability description a machine reads, not by a landing page (our reading). It is an early standard; do not tie your acquisition plan to it (our reading). But ask: can a machine understand what your product does from a single description? (our reading)
